RE: country table
Hello Kostas,

Thank you for your inquiry into the methodology used in the Swisslog Country Database in respect of the PJ DXCC entities.

To differentiate between the former allocations and the new ones, Swisslog has to retain the old definitions so that historic QSOs can be retrospectively logged correctly with some meaning to the user so that they know they are correct. Where possible, ambiguity is removed by keeping the prefix numeral in the abbreviation where loss of information would otherwise occur. Therefore when the original 2 PJ DXCC entities were deleted and the 4 new ones created, the definitions became:

Old PJ2 = Netherland Antilles <> New PJ2C = Curacao (PJ2 being the current PX)

New PJ4B = Bonaire (PJ4 being the current PX)

Old PJ7 = St Maarten, Saba, St Eustatius <> New PJ5ES = E for Eustatius and S for Saba (PJ5/6 being the current PX)
New PJ7SM = St Maarten (PJ7 being the current PX).

There is no logical reason to shorten the abbreviations by removing the numeral and losing the connections to the prefix.
