Submenues cannot be clicked on - dl1daw - 18-03-2026

I operate SWL version 5.115 and Windows 11 operating system. For a while in a creeping process I cannot open the submenues. For example I can open the menue "Options" by mouse click and the submenues become visible. However I cannot open any submenue like (Options for the active window) by mouse click although the submenue is highlighted.
This error happens only in SWL not in other installed programmes/apps.
What is the reason for this error and how to correct it?
Shall I rollback to SWL version 5.114 or lower? How to rollback? What is the rollbackprocess?
I highly appreciate any support and assistance to eliminate this error.
Kind regards

Hello Achim,

Version 5.115 works well, you don't need to downgrade at all! This usually happens because your antivirus is blocking Swisslog. It's VERY IMPORTANT you add an exception to the C:\Swisslog folder in your antivirus and allow the SwisslV5.exe all incoming/outgoing communications in your firewall. Otherwise you may experience freezes, violation errors, etc. Also add exceptions in your Antimalware software (if you use some of them) because the same rules apply.

If you still experience issues after doing all the above try to run Swisslog as administrator:
  • Mouse right click on the Swisslog icon > Properties > Compatibility > then check the "Run as administrator" checkbox then press Apply and OK.

If all this fails then you have an issue in your operating system. Although all other software may work well, Swisslog do lots of things and when it's not working properly it's the sign something is not working well in your operating system. Maybe a pending update process or corrupted files. You can check this easily: enter the Task administrator (Ctrl+Alt+Del) and see the CPU usage with no software running. It should be less than 10%. If your CPU usage level is higher than 50% then you have an issue. In the Windows's search field type:

CMD

Run as administrator the System symbol program it will popup. An MS-DOS style window will be displayed. Type the following command (note the blank before the bar!):

SFC /SCANNOW

At the end of the process you will get a report if there are corrupted system files and whether they have been fixed. Close this window then restart.

After applying all the above all should work as expected.

Dear Jordi,
first of all thank you very much for your quick response. Yes you are right 5.115 worked well a long time without any problems till I changed the TRX control from direct 7610 to OmniRig to control my IC-9700 together with the SDR control (QO-100 operation). After the QO-100 operation I switched back to control the IC-7610 directly. I remember that was the decisive act. After this act the error occurred. I disconnected both USB cable from the IC-7610 for a while and connected again. Additionally I followed your procedure sfc/scannow. Windows detected some issues and repaired them automatically and build a new image. Finally it works well now. I think there was an issue with the USB interface (hanging) either on TRX or on PC.
However I am happy and again thanks a lot! Smile
