Info Tables update failure - MA3212SWL - 06-03-2020

Hi
Just had the regular warning about info tables not be updated for 60 days. When I tried to update the tables I got failure messages for the following tables:

CW OPS - unrecognised format
DEE - unrecognised format
SOTA - 301 error, permenantly moved

I guess something has changed with the source data for those tables. Not a big deal for me but thought you might like to know if you weren't aware.

BTW I am using 5.99f.

Hi,

Edit the SwisslV5.ini file which is located in the Swisslog folder (mouse right click then select EDIT). Press Ctrl+B and type: URL-List

On this section delete the following lines:

CWOPSUpdate=https://www.swisslogforwindows.com/files/CWOPS.xlsx
DEEUpdate=https://www.diplomaermitas.es/poptions/nomenclator.php

If URL address are different delete them equally.

Now replace the SOTAUpdate line by this:

SOTAUPdate=https://www.sotadata.org.uk/summitslist.csv

Now it should work properly. If you still have problems download and replace the latest Statistic file you will find in the Download section.

Thanks for that Jordi.

The SOTA fix -changing url to https not http - seems to have worked and the table updated.

The program was still prompting me that the DEE table was out of date every time I started it. The update still failed even though I had removed the line from the INI file as you said.

I manually updated the DEE record in the INF_TABLESLASTUPDATE table to be today's date and that seemed to stop it. I guess it will start 'reminding' me to update again in 60 days but at least I know how to get round it now.

Thanks again for quick reply

Hello,

Please download and replace the latest Statistic file from the download section! I have just uploaded an updated version (simply unzip the SWLSTAT.Z>IP file in the Swisslog folder, overwriting the existing file).

PLEASE don't modify the tables with Access! Swisslog handles all tables internally. If you modify the database files with Access you can corrupt the database structure because they are all linked! If something doens't work as expected this means something is wrong in your setup and must be carefully reviewed. Replace the SWLSTAT and should work ok. Make sure you are using the right statistic file. Go to Tools / For expertes only / Open Stat DB and select the SWLSTAT.MDB located in the Swisslog folder (the one you have just updated from the website).

Jordi

I didn't modify the tables with Access, I used the program itself:
Tools > Information Tables > Import / Export / Edit
then selected the INF_TABLESLASTUPDATE table and updated the LASTUPDATE field for the DEE record.

If updating the info tables using the program is dangerous perhaps that capability should be removed, or at least moved the 'Experts Only' menu.

Also if updating statistics via a download of the SWLSTAT file is the preferred/recommended way perhaps the 'out of date' warning for info tables could be removed. It would be nice if the program then checked for a new SWLSTAT file at start up and gave you the option to download it when a new release was detected. (Would also be nice for the Country file when new releases of that are made).

RE: Info Tables update failure - EA3GCV - 10-03-2020

Yes of course you can edit it this way! I thought you did it with Access sorry! Some users have altered the Swisslog database by using Access without having the required knowledge and that's why I told you this.

If you don't want to be warned anymore for certain statistics you simply have to disable the associated statistic in Options / Active statistics. Disable the ones you don't use and you don't be warned anymore for the disabled statistic. There are special like Lotw, eQSL which doesn't have an associated statistic. Please read this thread where I explain how to do it:

https://www.swisslogforwindows.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=362

I will add to the wish list the option to automatically upgrade the Country table and Statistic database within Swisslog.
