LOTW full synchronize help
Hello All,

My LOTW account online for confirmed QSO doesn't match confirmed QSO in Swisslog. This is because I field checked paper QSL in the past years and didn't update the QSL boxes in the log.

Is there a way to safely synchronise the entire log with LOTW? I see there are options to add QSL since dates but don't want to corrupt anything.

Any advice would be great,
Thanks Neil

Helo Neil,

Don't confuse QSL card confirmations with "electronic" LoTW confirmations. Swisslog provides 3 different fields: QSL Received is ONLY for QSL Cards. This field must be checked manually by the user by using the Register QSL Card function in the Tools menu. You need to take your QSLs, enter the callsign,, locate the QSO in the list then press F5 to check the QSL Received indicator. Obviously the QSO must be previously entered in Swisslog. If the QSO from the QSL is not in the database you will have to add it manually.

LoTW Received is checked automatically after you perform a LoTW synch with Swisslog and it's checked if the QSO partner has uploaded his QSOs in LoTW system and his QSO matches with your QSO within an error period of +-30 minutes. There is also the eQSL Received field if you use eQSL and use the eQSL Synch function.

Please read carefully the following chapters in the Swisslog help:

Hello Jordi,

I think I get some of what you are saying.  LOTW has hundreds of credited DXCC confirmations, including ATNO that are not confirmed in the Swisslog as the ARRL checked them manually and credited my DXCC account years ago.  I can see the LOTW account has all of these credits.

So just to be clear are you are saying there is absolutely no way of importing all of the credits to Swisslog unless I enter each one manually somehow and it will never be fully synchronised?

Many thanks for your help,
Neil

RE: LOTW full synchronize help
Hello Neil,

I guess your credited DXCC confirmations were made because in the past you sent the QSL cards to the DXCC Desk to credit them to the DXCC program. These credits counts for your DXCC program but they are not LoTW confirmations. Unfortunately the "DXCC QSL Download" ADIF file doesn't provide a good listing for these credits because of the important lack of information: old credits have a fixed date which doesn't correspond with the real QSO date. Most of them dated on January 1st, no QSo Time and even no Mode. This is specially important for digital modes where DATA is set. So doing an automatic way to handle these credits are useless because it's not possible to find an exact match due to the important lack of information. Of course I'm talking about of PREVIOUSLY having these QSO entered in the logbook. Importing these credits as QSO are also impossible because of the wrong date, no mode and no QSO time. A lot of manual actions are needed.

I suggest you to find these QSL cards then enter manually these QSOs in Swisslog. I know it's a huge work, but I don't know of an automatic way of entering QSO data from QSL cards except entering manually.

RE: LOTW full synchronize help
Hello Jordi,

Yes that is exactly the problem, I'm not sure I want to manually enter 600 or more QSL cards!
Thank you for your help and patience, I now fully understand.

Neil
