WSJT-X + SWL TRX

Hi, 

I'm starting to look at digi modes and installed WSJT-X. After configuring it seems all is working and it's "talking" to the radio and Swisslog, however, when I start WSJT-X it follows the radio but Swisslog throws an error about conflicting COM6. Shutting down WSJT-X lets Swisslog communicate with redio again but after restarting WSJT-X it no longer displays the TS-480 frequency.

Anything I'm doing wrong? Should WSJT-X get the frequency from SWL? I guess only one program can use a COMport at the same time.

As you have found out, a real COM port can't be shared by several applications at once, unless you use a Virtual Serial Port Emulator, such as VSPE: https://eterlogic.com/products.vspe.html

The easiest way to solve this is to install OmniRig (https://dxatlas.com/OmniRig/) and configure it for your transceiver. Either WSJT-X and of course Swisslog supports Omnirig. OmniRig handles the communication to the radio through the COM port but is sending the frequency and mode to the supported programs internally, no matter how many programs you are using at the same time. It's simple and effective with no conflicts.
