FT991A with Swisslog
Hi all,
I'm a little lost with the transceiver setting in Swisslog for my ft-991A
Normally, with wsjtx and mshv, I use COM6 (usb cable) no parity, 9600 bauds, eight bits, 2 stop bits ...and it works. Here, can't get the frequency in swisslog ?
Any idea ? the standard FT-990 does not work....

note : Swisslog beeing alone, without anything else, I was operating for the CQ WW CW

RE: FT991A with Swisslog
Hi Guy,
First of all, you only have to set 2 stops bits when baud rate is 4800. For other baud rates use 1 stop bit.
You can't share a COM por with several applications at once unless you use a Virtual Port Serial Emulator ( https://eterlogic.com/products.vspe.html). So if you have WSJT-X open and your transceiver works well, if you open Swisslog or other software where you have set the same COM port, CAT control won't work.
There is an easy solution which is using Omnirig ( https://dxatlas.com/OmniRig/). Swisslog, WSJT-X, JTDX, MHSV and lot of software supports OmniRig. Simply install OmniRig, select your transceiver then set COm port settings for your FT-991A and select OmniRig in Swisslog and WSJT-X. You will have CAT control in all software with no conflicts at all.

RE: FT991A with Swisslog
HI Jordi,
I have forgotten to mention that the Swisslog transceiver control works perfectly with OMNIRIG
In this special case, I wanted to use my FT991A ONLY connected to Swisslog to log CQ WW CW qso's, hoping that the frequency would display correctly
in the Swisslog window when logging a qso (I was just doing search&pounce),
I've been able to do this only after connecting with omnirig
I have no problem at all with wsjtx, mshv, cwskimmer etc with the suitable COM6 configuration (com 6 and 7 here for the FT991)
In digital modes, I'm usually operating remote from my workspace upstairs, so CAT and everything work flawlessly
With Swisslog, directly to COM6, I have tried everything, all speeds , 1 or 2 stop bits...to no avail
I had installed a virtual port emulator, long time ago, but never really needed it
but you're right, the common, universal solution could be OMNIRIG

RE: FT991A with Swisslog
Hi Jordi,
>> Make sure OmniRig is not running otherwise ....
never, I'm aware of this
>> I think this transceiver supports 38400
yes, it does , there is sometjhing in the FT-991A settings
menu 31 : cat rate 4800/9600/19200/38400 bps
The funniest thing is that it works perfectly with mshv and wsjt-x
I'll try other settings until it works. would be interesting to add it in the transceiver menu.
HRD last free version (v5 ?) does not have it, the most recent version (v8/) has it
