Comments Field
Hola Jordi, hi Gents

How can I enter a fixed text in the QSL field "Comments"?

That means that you can enter the same text without having to enter the text for each QSO manually

For example: "Tnx for the QSO, 73 Reiner" (as fixed Text)

Anybody got any ideas?

RE: Comments Field
Hi Reiner,

There is no option to do this from the QSO Entry window. For FT8 QSOs (if you use the UDP link with Swisslog to save QSOs in realtime) you can set this in JTDX or WSJT-X when saving QSO to set a fixed text in the comments field (check the RETAIN option).

But if you want to set a fixed text in Swisslog you can do it easily this way:

- Open a logbook view containing the Comments field (i.e.: the view Logbook ALL fields in the logbook folder)
- Select the QSOs you want to apply the same text by using the filtering functions provided in the logbook view
- Locate the QSO Note field then mouse right click in any blank content of this field
- Select Edit > Change all QSOs
- Set the fixed text you want for comments then press OK
- Press OK all confirmations messages to apply changes

That's all! Now all these QSOs will have this text in the Comments field. You can do the same for other fields. It's a very powerful function! Please read the Multiple QSO Update chapter in the Swisslog documentation or help for more details.

It can be done using Access and setting a default value for the Notes field (or any text field). Then all new QSOs have this text automatically.

RE: Comments Field
Hi,

Glad you solved it. I don't recommend to modify the Swislsog database with Access! Although it can be done as Erik explains, user must know very well how he/she is doing.
